Intense Negotiations

"Conflict is the beginning of Consciousness" – Esther Harding

Dangerous conflicts present threats to security which lead into intense negotiations, which lead your characters to self-enlightenment or self-loathing. The reader is definitely along for the ride. Think danger and your plot won’t let you go.

Understand what forces work against your character(s) that make them feel threatened. Decide how conflict will present itself: through setting, through other characters, through the weaknesses of your character, through fate or a combination of elements. Create that conflict, so that your readers , even if they wanted to, couldn’t escape it.
